Wild Ducks
Mallards, Ruddy Shelducks, Belon Shelducks, European Wigeons, Red-crested Pochards, Common Pochards, and Marbled Teals—no fewer than seven species of ducks native to different continents nest near the park’s bodies of water and waterfalls.

Did you know?
Ducks can literally change their "outfits "! After breeding, males of several species temporarily lose their bright colors and take on a much more subdued plumage called "eclipse plumage," which makes them look more like the females.
Also take a look at their wings: many species have an iridescent patch—a small area of colorful feathers that’s particularly noticeable in flight. In the Mallard, for example, it’s blue. It’s a real identifying feature to look for among the ducks of Cigoland!
